Course Description:
This course is designed to help the student to read and understand medical and scientific terminologies which they will use throughout their study in the Biochemistry Department.
The use of the language of medicine and science is the foundation for appropriate and accurate communication in patient care, scientific research, health management and with other professionals. Both written and spoken terminology will be reviewed in this course.
Course Syllabus
This course is divided into four main parts
1-Part one: Introduction to medical terminology analysis, numbers and colors , plural and singular as well as abbreviations.
2- Part two: Prefixes and suffix
3- Part three: Free readings from internet and other sources
4-Part four : Parts of the body & digestive system

- A-Understand the meaning of complex medical terms by word analysis.
- B-Recognize the origins of terminology wither its Latin or Greek and how it is demonstrated in the scientific books of Biochemistry.
C- Spell medical terms with high degrees of accuracy to lessen communication error.
D-Understand medical and scientific abbreviations and how to deal with them according to the text.
